Christmas Wedding

Two souls with but a single thought, Two hearts that beat as one.” Confetti, cake, and vows… throw in a festival as stupendous as Christmas and what do you have? A great Christmas wedding. It is also a wonderful time of the year, with your family milling around you in merriment and the church (if that’s your wedding venue) pre-decorated. Plus, the air is so festive that it spreads like contagion.

You’ll want to start with your wedding card, of course. It being the holiday season you might want your wedding card to stand out somewhat. Here’s what you can do. You may opt for a purely traditional card over a contemporary folded one with text embossed in golden calligraphy. You can also feature snowflakes, a holly, or poinsettias creatively along the border. Send in your invitations early as your friends and relatives would have formed their travel/holiday plans in advance.

What kind of colors would you want to feature at your wedding venue? Because of the festive season, you can expect the traditional reds and greens to abound the wedding site. There is no need to feel intimidated or bound, though. You can go for white and silver or, if you are feeling more adventurous you can go wild with forest green, crimson, and gold. But if you want the typically ‘cool’ look, you can settle for blue and silver. These dreamy hues will make your wedding venue appear truly magical.

The next thing you might want to attend to is the wedding cake. How about a delicious yule log which is tiered rather imaginatively with a holly on top? Or a buche noel with either real holly or one prepared from gum paste trailing down on one side? Each tier can be individually wrapped to resemble a separate package.

The sight of bridesmaids trailing behind the blushing bride brings many a tear to the sentimentally inclined. Bridesmaids decked out in long dresses replete with capelets and shrugs look rather cute. Sparkling accessories, long wraps, and large faux-fur muffs simply renders the picture postcard-perfect.
