The Runaway priest

Once in an ancient church a faithful priest lived in the capital of a kingdom. The king patronized Christianity and showered golden statues to the church.

The king being very wealthy not only spread Christianity through these statues, but also bought great fame to his kingdom as it was this kingdom only with so many golden statues of Jesus.

Daily devotees came from far and wide to pray and view the statues. The church became a matter of pride and the priest was also happy.

One find day the golden statues disappeared and the priest was blamed for it.

The king accused the priest for the stolen property. Though the priest denied, no one paid heed to his words.

The king asked his guard to envelop the church so that the priest does not escape from the church. They could not take the law in the church as by law you cannot apprehend a person in a church.

So they waited for him outside. Days passed slowly and one day when the priest fell asleep in the podium, Jesus appeared and asked the priest to follow him as the guards were asleep.

Without any second thought, the priest followed the man who called himself as Jesus. He ran behind that man and even in the pitch darkness he could see light.

Suddenly the man disappeared and when the priest saw he noticed that he had reached another kingdom. He was amazed to see that he had reached a church and tired of running he slept on the bench.

The priest started spreading the message of Jesus arrival as he noticed all the golden statues here. This reached the kings ears of this kingdom.

The priest narrated the story to the then king, but the king said clearly that he does not appreciate welcoming a runaway stranger. However, the priest was allowed to stay.

One day the king went for hunting and was enveloped in the fog. He was not a believer of Christ, so simply as a trial he said if the fog clears right now, he would donate all the adjacent lands to Jesus and would worship him.

The fog got cleared in seconds; the king abandoned the hunting session and started worshipping Jesus. The king prays very sincerely and notices that there was great charm in every small thing that he failed to notice all these days.

However, Jesus gave a divine message to him that to the west of his capital in the forest a large golden statue of Jesus was to be taken charge. The king at once called for the runaway priest, apologized to him and made him the arch bishop of the kingdom.

This tells us that the faith and sincerity is always paid and that was obvious in the priest.
