The Holy Visitor

Once upon a time, there lived an orphan. She had lost her mother when she was born and her father was killed by a disease. So she was left poor and parentless.

He made a living by working as a maid in various households. This did not earn her a lot of money, yet she was able to live with the money she made.

One during Christmas, she happened to go to church. She heard the sermon being delivered by the priest of the church. She was so moved by the birth of Jesus and his life that she decided to celebrate Christmas next year.

She decided to save money every month so that she could celebrate Christmas wit ha nice small cake.

She toiled day and night to save money for celebrating Christmas. She sometimes had to go to bed on an empty stomach. She did not mind this as the only thing that meant to her was celebrating Christmas.

She also started to bake as she needed to increase her savings and also to improve her baking skills. The girl baked wonderful cakes, pancakes and other such foods.

By the next Christmas, she realized she had saved money enough to bake herself a nice little cake.Full of joy, she baked her own cake. It was the first time she was celebrating Christmas.

She was about to cut the cake when she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and found a small boy outside. He said that he was an orphan and asked if he could come inside to warm himself.

She developed a liking for him as he was also an orphan. She took him in and offered him the cake. He thanked her and in her hunger ate the entire cake. He did not realize this until he had finished eating the cake.

The girl was sad that her Christmas cake was eaten without her getting even a small share. Yet she was happy that she had fed a poor orphan. With the flour that was remaining, she baked herself two pancakes and offered the boy a pancake.

He took the pancake in his hand and in front of the girl’s eyes, it changed into a cake. The girl was flabbergasted at this miracle. The boy said that it was his birthday and he wanted to give the cake to his friend.

Only then she understood that her visitor was none other than Jesus Christ himself. Christ blessed her and she was given a place in heaven as she gave up her desired cake for a stranger. The girl was highly rewarded for her concern.
