The Apposite Gift

Gifts are always appreciated by one and all. However, Christmas is a festive that means a lot for gifts. Young or old, everyone has a gift for each other.

Paul always admired gifts and jumped of joy when he received one. He also believed that a big box carried expensive and best gifts.

But as time went on and he became a young man, he realized that each gift had its own significance, be it a pin or a pen. Every gift was unique and special.

In fact all these years the number of presents Paul had received were given to him with lots of love through heart such as his mother took pain to weave sweaters and scarves for him.

Now he realized the depth of it when it was too late.

He also felt sorry for not bringing a gift for anyone until date. He now understood that Christmas is not about acquiring gift only and it is about giving gift also.

Moreover, he knew that the thought behind the gift matters the most than the price and size of the gift.

This Christmas he was already blessed as he received an amazing and beautiful gift, his girlfriend Angela. But now as he knew the real meaning of Christmas is in giving, he started hunting for an apposite gift for his girlfriend.

In search of an incredible gift, he started rummaging small and big store, big and small lanes, shops to window shopping, but could find nothing worth giving. Nothing looked attractive and somewhat defeated he slowly retreated to the exit.

Days passed by and he grew extremely excited that after so many years he had arrived at the true meaning of Christmas and its significance and now today he could not get a deserved present.

However, this search session continued for few more days but without any effective results. One fine evening once again with a disappointed heart of having found no incredible gift for his girlfriend he was returning and suddenly found the gift.

Yes, he found the gift, but this gift was not available in a fancy department nor wrapped in a pretty paper with ribbons or bows or a receipt to be taken. He found this perfect gift in the eyes of an elderly couple.

This elderly couple were holding hands and subsequently he also saw a grandson and grandfather fondling each other and in the strides of a proud mother to be. Yes, he found the true gift ‘Love’.

He had not said those golden words and decided that this would be her Christmas gift. He wrote loving words and placed it on her hand and they both sat holding each others hands and new their Christmas gift was fantastic.
