John’s Grandma handed 10 dollars and permitted him to buy something that someone else needs and not for himself. She returned to the car and allowed John to take his decision.
John was puzzled as he always accompanied his mother while shopping, but had never been on an adventure on his own. The store was filled with people who were scrambling to complete their Christmas shopping.
John was completely confused what and for who on this earth he had to buy. Suddenly his mind flashed a name Bobby Decker, his class mate.
Bobby was a kid with messy hair and bad breath who never had a coat and his mother always gave a note with some excuse for Bobby not wearing a coat.
But all in the school knew that Bobby did not have one such thing called coat. I decided that I would buy a coat for Bobby.
John settled for red corduroy and the lady at the counter packed it wishing john a Merry Christmas.
The same evening Grandma wrapped it with ribbons and wrote ‘To Bobby, From Santa’ on it and Grandma whispered to John that Santa loved to maintain secrecy and drove john to Bobby’s house.
John put the present on his step, pounded the doorbell and flew behind the bushes near his Grandma. He noticed Bobby standing on the doorstep and was thrilled to have that gift. This adventure with his Grandma confirmed John that Santa was alive and he was a team member. |
